We have all had those days when it is raining outside and the kids are complaining they are bored. Instead of letting them watch TV or use the computer, why not gather the family and organise an Indoor Olympics? It is going to be a fun-filled time together and a great way to build and strengthen family bond.

The Indoor Olympics is an obstacle course set up in your home, filled with different obstacle stations. The objective of the race is to see who can complete the race in the fastest time while balancing a mini beanbag on your head without dropping it.

Race Rules

• You must balance a mini beanbag on your head while racing and performing obstacles

• If you drop the beanbag, you are penalized for one minute

• The stopwatch starts when the player starts the first challenge and ends when the player completes the last challenge.

• The winner is the player with the fastest completion time

Race Materials

• Mini beanbags that can be balanced on your head

• A stopwatch

Ideas for Obstacles and Challenges

At certain locations in the race, the players will have to clear obstacles and challenges. Here are some suggestions, but feel free to add your own. Remember, if a player drops their beanbag, they have to stand still one minute

1. Dance to music for 10 seconds

2. Walk sideways like a crab for 10 seconds

3. Tiptoe in a straight line for 10 seconds

4. Cluck like a chicken for 10 seconds and flap your hands

5. Spin around for 5 turns
